Paul F. Anderson

1943 - 2023

In Memoriam

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Frederick Anderson on January 23, 2023. Paul was a son, a brother, a father, grandfather, great friend, and attorney. He was also a proud veteran who served our country in Vietnam as an officer in the United States Army.

Paul was born on February 23, 1943 to Floyd and Helen (Bunting) Anderson. He was raised with Jack and Sue Ryan and he loved them both like the brother and sister they became. He played football and graduated from the Marion Military Academy and went on to graduate with his BA from Loyola University and his JD from the University of Houston. He was an avid traveler, and never missed an opportunity to explore new places and cultures, and oh how he loved to dine. Paul was also a skilled poker player, who loved the thrill of the game. When he wasn't playing cards, you could find him fishing, a hobby that he treasured along with golf, tennis and spending time with his friends.

Paul was also a devoted family man, who loved spending time with his son and daughter in law, and most certainly his prized grandchildren. He was known for his kind and compassionate nature, and for his quick wit and ability to speak to anyone he met through the course of his day. His generosity and love for life left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Paul's passion for life was matched only by his dedication to his work. As a practicing attorney for more than 50 years, he was known for his exceptional legal skills and his unwavering commitment to his clients. Paul's passion for justice inspired countless people, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him or that he represented in court.

Paul Anderson is survived by his son, Paul Floyd Anderson and his daughter in law, Tonya Anderson, and his beloved grandchildren, Jacob, Maddy and Ethan who he loved so very dearly and whom he had pictures everywhere on every wall in his place. His cousins, Sue and Jack Ryan were like sister and brother to him, and were very dear and special people in his life. Many others will remember him including cousins, nieces, nephews, former wives, in addition to numerous close friends, business associates, clients, horse trainers, jockeys and poker adversaries. Special thanks to his friends Vasant Patel (EZ), Carol Preston and Robert David Nalbach (RD) and his son Stephen, who were always there for him when he needed them the most.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held in San Antonio, TX once the weather allows for an outdoor event and once his community pool is finally reopened after being closed for the first year ever in over 30 years living at the Diamond Head condominiums. Even to the end, he was not happy about that.

Paul Frederick Anderson was a strong, clever, and good man, who lived a full and meaningful life. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him, and his story will be one that continues on in the stories that so many will remember in their own continuing book's of life, as quite the chapter; some that remain yet a mystery.
